A while ago I recorded myself singing Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” to send to my grandmother in Puerto Rico. I also put it up on you tube, but with no video.
I decided to make a whole CD for my family and began recording a variety of karaoke tracks. Recently, I noticed that one of my non-videos has about 800 hits. It’s me singing “Are you happy now?” by Michelle Branch.
I was like hmmm… who the hell is listening to me singing?
Then I started getting comments.
Example:
I was like hmmm… that’s cool.
There were a bunch more, all nice things. Nothing creepy.
Then…
I decided to click on this girls profile… see what her deal is.
14… Malaysia… sort of left me a flirty comment… interesting.
Anyway…
It’s nice to get positive comments… but it’s a bit depressing when you click on profiles and everyone is between the ages of 9 and 15. Still… a fan base is a fan base, and I will take what I can get, ok?
Then something glorious happened… I became integrated into the wonderful world of you tube comment arguments.
I had posted myself singing “The Wizard and I” from the Broadway show Wicked, originally sung by Idina Menzel… and I get this entirely ridiculous accusation/comment from some guy:
My Malaysian fan’s hopes seemed a bit dashed there, hm? Sad.
Ok so it was no Britney Spears comment argument:
That’s what I’m aspiring to.
